Desautel's on the Avenue
I LOVED working on the HBO Series Treme. It is one of the highlights in my film career due to the immersion into the culture and underbelly of New Orleans.

One of the main characters opened up a new restaurant... So consequently a New Set and new sign had to be made.

Because this was in a premiere location on St. Charles Ave, it had to reflect upscale dining. This signs basic design and dimensions were laid out along with color samples that matched the palette of the set. A synthetic version of the sign can be seen to the right, showing a previsualization of what the sign should look like during the day and at night when illuminated. Once approved manufacture began.

The sign was constructed of brushed aluminum... The letters laser cut from the face, and the face laid onto milk plexiglass which had a translucent orange applied.

I installed and wired the sign to be lit from with using LEDs and a dimmer, with the light adjustment knob discreetly available on the back.
